To get your real estate license in Minnesota, you must be at least 18 years of age.
Complete 90 hours of real estate pre-license education, including three 30-hour approved courses (Course I, II, III).
Course I must be completed prior to taking your real estate salesperson exam; Course II and Course III may be completed either before or after the exam, but must be completed prior to applying for your Minnesota real estate salesperson license.
You must pass the Minnesota real estate salesperson licensing exam before you apply for your license.
Prior to registering for your exam, be sure to successfully complete Course I of your pre-license education.
Associating with a licensed broker
You can’t become a licensed real estate salesperson in Minnesota without first being associated with an actively licensed real estate broker. You must be licensed to act on behalf of a licensed broker, and you may not be licensed to act on behalf of more than one broker in Minnesota during the same period of time.
You do not submit your application for a real estate salesperson license; the real estate broker that you become associated with must submit the application. Once the application is approved by the Commerce Department your broker will be able to print out your license.
